The Four Tops "Still Waters Run Deep" (1970)

Why is it important to attend our Grassroots Planning and Strategy Session this Sunday? Two words

Why is it important to attend our Grassroots Planning and Strategy Session this Sunday? Two words:  Citizens United.  You may have heard about it---a Supreme Court case that plays into Republican strategy (and dealt a blow to democracy IMHO) by allowing corporations to make unlimited campaign contributions.  Our answer to Citizens United:  GRASSROOTS PLANNING.  We need to work now to fight for every vote to reelect our President and to ensure we are heard through the politicians we choose, not those chosen by corporations…...
This is your chance to lend your voice to how LoudounVirginia and the nation organize going forward—and to be part of it. Don’t miss it.  Take a break Sunday and get Fired UP

Join us this Sunday, June 26, 1-3 PM to add your voice to the plans and strategy for Loudoun County

What:                Grassroots Planning Session with the State Director for Organizing for American

Where:              Leesburg Police Department, Community Room

When:               Sunday, June 26, 1-3 PM

WHY:                To answer Citizens United and keep Loudoun Blue we need every one of you for 2011 and 2012

Working Together -Congrats to Tasia Chante Dickerson & Robert E. Lee High School #Obama2012

We elected our President Barack because we felt he had what it took to effect change in a positive way.  Now some of us are continuing the same, games that have taken us to the place of insane.  Deep in our hearts we know that our President has America best interest in mind, even if some of his decisions do not pan out, at least he had a planned for us in the end;  trying to find ways to help which is more than I could say for those previously in power.  From business owners to politicians and minster and so forth.  Now is the time to redeem yourself and help and take one for the team.  This is how you people have always done things.  When you fall short on an idea or task, someone else caught foot in their a$$ or lost their job or whatever.   Now the President is asking you to do what you have been doing to others all of these years.  Take one for the team.  You can afford it and it’s only going to make you better in the end.
Let’s be real, if you really wanted to do what’s best for your kids, or grandkids, then you would show them by your action how working together can really help everyone learn what’s working and what’s not.   But with the way things are going, our Great grand kids will still be fighting each other or working for another all because we didn’t trust one another.  Again, I asked this question, what will your grandkids read or hear about you or your service?  Paint the picture of love and care and everyone is aware and stop the scare because we will only end up nowhere still complaining how life isn’t fair.  Especially when you are now the one on the opposite side of fair.  Like now with the taxes increases on the wealthy.  This bickering has to stop.  And let’s do what’s good for the economy and support our President Barack, win or lose, we stick together like Glue.  Kind of like Tasia Chante Dickerson & Robert Lee High School.

Ghetto-----Is what I remember the young lady saying about how people felt about her school.  But because the people were screaming and yealing while the young lady was speaking I could not hear much.   She also said how Ghetto people stuck together.  Ghetto or not, you should show respect where respect is due or find out how it feels when no one respects you.  To me, I would think that should be basic information that doesn’t need saying or explaining.  But, it seems that I was wrong, whenever someone is at the podium it would be respectful to at least listen but to scream or shout or talk over that person speaking is flat- out wrong.  Even if you had something you just had to say, you could whisper it, so that you and the person only hear the information.   To me everyone want’s some kind of curtesy or feel appreciated?  The purpose of  me telling people to get rowdy and things was to show these kids how important is to graduate from high school and to get a great education.  But of course, it’s seems some would take it too far, of course claiming not to know their cut off limited.  Well, for future events, please try to show the speaker some curtesy, for those who didn’t know this.

Sending Shout-outs to all that participated in the Graduation from Presentation of Colors to the Department of Chairperson for all that you do and have done to support our kids and inspire others. Thank U.  I look forward in seeing what you have stored for our future generation

Since, my discovery of how blessed I am, I have been trying to spread the love that was given to me from above by inspiring our youth and others to be a better person every day, to find ways to make a difference  in helping others because they care, "& now more aware.

The President helped me jump start this, which is something that no man has witness and yet, out of fear of being wrong, or losing  your party support you are willing to sabotage our Presidents efforts just so that you could say I told you so.

Those types of people have to go.  You need to be removed from your position and placed on the side lines to learn the attitude it’s all mine is not fine.  Working together should be the only thing on your mind or yea, & being kind.  MoPoDC

Congrats- Kevin & Centreville High School Class Of 2011 #Obama2012

What an interesting week so far.  My God daughter is not going to the Peace Corp, for now.   I had a great time with my son’s Baseball team the Indians and eating at Joe’s Pizza in Sterling shopping center.  The food was great and the servers seemed nice.  I see why so many leagues go there to celebrate.

I attended a young friend of mine; Kevin Carter McGee graduation today.  He graduated from Centerville High School Class of 2011.  I would like to send a special shout out to the Honored Recognized with a High GPA and a great attitude.  Especially the ones dancing across the stage and jumping in excitement. I hope you really cherish this moment and grow up to create or inspire your moments.  Just know we are watching what you do and how you represent you.
I'm also was very pleased with the love the audience showed the students.  Each group had their own unique way of cheeringJ.  The awesome Band used their instruments some just screamed out their kids, friends, and love ones name.   Either way, it was great to see the love.  Even a coach so choked up that he was honored to be asked to speak.  Now, that’s great when kid’s graduation does that to a person.  The love you showed our President Obama was truly great and an unusual acted, which seems like a great sign for Change.  I thought is was interesting how in covering the history as it pertains to you and your picture painted, it seemed bleak at best.  Now, the picture that is being painted is Hope, Change, and witnessing things are not the same.

In fact I heard them shout-out Adele Name, for her #1 hit. Which was one of the coolest things to hear schools are pay attention to your name?  Shout out to Adele again, for making it in and for believing Yes We Can.

Can you see the light, through your plight?  I called it Might.  We all can be right.  I am just glad that more and more people are not looking sad about our future about their dreams.   There is Hope that we will have a football team and the owners are not mean.  lol
If you can’t figure it out, then let me sit down with you and let’s see what we could bring about.  Also, I have been hearing concern about possible strikes with the Unions.  Listen, I have played a role on all side and I know how hard it is on each and every one of you.  Yes, I am talking to the ones that are going on strike as well.  Something’s need to change.  I believe we can make this work, if we stop being a jerk, causing businesses, & people to hurt.  Find a resolution that creates a better solution- MoPoDC
There is a ray of sunshine that has sparked our minds living like one of kind all enjoying our time.  No, that’s mine or anything of the kind.  Already at awe about what we see, letta long that it could be me.  MoPoDC
Thank, You, Thank You, Thank You,

Amazing –Weekend with Amazing People MoPoDC #Obama2012 Yes We Can

What’s up Fam,
Yea, I said Fam, because you guys showed me so much love this weekend.

All of the DJs as usual put it down.  But I have to single out Adele Rolling In The Deep  making #1 on Hot 99.5 chart.  Which I think is great because I really like her and her voice.  Also, and the music selection they played has truly been on point, I heard you rocking that lil Wayne (How To Love).  I have to give a shout out to Nick Cannon for a great interview with Mrs Shakur.  To comment on a question you asked, another positive that came from 2pac death is my survival.

I also went to the farmer markets in Purceville V.A.  this weekend to do Voter Registration.  I was pleasantly surprise because, of course I was for warned that these guys could be really rowdy and I am not saying they can’t be, but I thought they were the nicest people.  I enjoyed meeting this beautiful young lady from Gallaudet University, and eating tacos from the Local Fare where Mr. James A. Rivera was behind the hot grill cooking away.  The food was great, and I definitely recommend checking him out the next time you are in the area.  Apologize for not remembering your name, but thank you to the young lady that was running the Farmer’s event, she seemed really nice.
I know, I’m missing someone or something, and I apologize to those I accidently left out.  Ok, how many of you know about the Hylton Performing Arts Center?  Let me tell you, that place is Wow!!  And the performance from the kids & adults was Wow!!  I thought I was at some celebrity event that place looked that nice and those kids performed that well.  Great job all around.  Keep up the great the work.  Also I would like to send my special shout outs to Mr. Chu for thinking of all the teachers, Christina Lindennmuth the Hip-hop teacher for putting up with my niece Jasmine.lolJ, Mrs. Bobbi Jones for inspiring Mrs. Boyle to take a chance with Woodbridge “The fastest growing city” J
Mrs. Boyle, - Wow!  Those kids danced with their Hearts and it was so refreshing to see and the different themes were just ingenious.  What a wonderful way to celebrate 30 years of service, teaching and helping to inspire our youth.  I also love your challenge about Woodbridge being the fastest growing city and how they plan to win the Race for change, let me tell you they have a really great start as long as they have your heart. Happy 30thAnniversity Dance ETC. School of the Arts

My apology  to Great American Buffet in Manassas VA, thank you for the great food and nice atmosphere me & my family really noticed a difference like my sister said it was like you cooked it with whole lot of love.  But of course, I'm from the south and
we say you really put your foot in it,:).  Great Job and Thank U.

Shout out's to Mrs. Young & Isaiah & Guilford Elementary School #Obama2012

What’s up followers?
Wow! Let me say this again Wow!  Guilford has shown me a great sign about the future.  Mrs. Young put on the best display or presentation that I have ever seen.  She covered working together, families, friends, learning new technologies, and how to use music as a way to make you cry lol.  You think I’m playing, but I had tears in my eyes from the time I left until the time I got home.  I stopped at 7-11 off of Church Rd in Sterling VA and didn’t want to go inside until I could pull myself together.  Oh, in case you did not hear me the1st two times, Wow!!!!!
Guilford showed the possibilities could be endless for our kids to have, even while getting a public school education.  Part of the problem is all of these School’s budget cuts, which are holding our kids, our teachers and others back from reaching the ideal dream.  A wide range of possibilities is what our President’s Obama seeks.  Like encouraging good behavior positive thinking, and most of all learning.  Learning from your stint on earth and life experiences. Also a Shout Out to the Kids that received the Presidential Award: Kids with High GPAs, Most Improved, and kids that I guess keeps a Smile on their faces, and Kids that are Dependable and showed teaching potential.

I thought all of these categories were great.  Like we do in Organizing For America, there are always rooms for improvement.  So we look at positive and negative, and the things we would change going forward.
I think one important key category that was left out was the Teacher’s award or true Appreciation

I would like to have seen some teachers identified for their wonderful  efforts.  I know some of you teachers are still growing in your position and others have been forced to conform to your position, either way, the time has come to embrace Change.  The way we used to do things don’t always have to be for today’s thinking.

Example, I was in Organizing For American Training (OFA) last weekend, and I watched a great group of people who cared about something come together and put together and organized a campaign to get President Barack elected in 2008.  Now this group has embarked on a journey to get our President reelected in 2012.  During our training this weekend there were some rough spots in our training session but instead of giving up of boasting about their accomplishment in 2008 which they were entitled to do .  Instead they listened to the students and myself and made the adjustment to turn the class and people’s opinions around. Which leads me to the next question, what are the opinions the kids or people you touch have about your work or service?
I was truly impressed with the LUV Orgainized For American showed me. “Yes We Can” was the message that resonated with me, people wearing some really nice shirts & buttons.  A Howard University “Yes We Can shirt” was the hottest shirt I have seen thus far, it could be because of the person wearing it.  She did a great job representing.

Back, to my original point, People take this wonderful moment that we shared at my son’s school and others graduations and let’s build off of it, and ride the momentum with our voices, our time, and our involvement.
We have a duty as real concerned citizen to ensure our kids, Teacher’s and Facilities future get the necessary tools and help they need to be successful.
We can’t do that by talking about our involvement, we have to get involve and let the ones know that are jeoparddies  the future. We stand together, and we could do like Oklahoma and Rise Together and start rebuilding our community one Solor, Wind, Geo thermal one house and person at a time.
Let’s really help Virginia be the leading edge.  Loudoun County has been looked at as the leader in this race for Change because of how fast it has grown.  Who knew?  We have our President’s ear, let him hear.
One way we do that as taught in training last weekend is to get involve and help us, help our President try to implement his vision of what America could look like be like, think like.
We are holding a Voter registration this weekend as well as phone banks and 1:1s to get your opinions, and your ideas as to what we could do better going forward into the next election.
I erg each and every one of you to reach out to

Jan @ "Jan Wilson"  <jan@smartneighborhood.net>, and let her know that you want to help especially this week or weekend.
We need a lot of different people from different back grounds to represent.  Especially now because we are in our Grassroots stages.  Building from the ground up.
Please read information below as to what is going on for this week and weekend.
Hope to see you at one of these events.
Thank U Guilford & Young for making this moment really special.  Many blessing to you.
 One Luv MoPoDC

Rep Paul Ryan Still Crying & Lying #obama2012

Congrats- Jasmine & Potomac Senior High School Commencement class of 2011

What’s up followers, it has been a crazy week and weekend, I don’t even know where to begin. So, what I might do is break this up into two parts because I don’t want to make it too long to read.
I would like to start with Shout-outs to Potomac Senior High School commencement class of 2011.
This was by far the best graduation I have ever attended. Why you ask? Lol
Because this school had Thirty-four kids that graduated with 4.0 and they all kept that grade the entire four years.  They also had a Hundred sixty three kids that walked with 3.5 or higher GPA, which I thought was amazing.  Especially because all of those kids were the first to attend Potomac Middle School and when my nephew graduated a year before, he said only half his class walked.  On top of that, they held it at the Jiffy Lube Live also used to be known as Nissan Pavilion.  It was really nice, the people were really excited and rowdy they cheered for those kids so much that one kid walked pass his certificate with his hands raised in the air like some celebrity and we all laughed.  The Principal Marc Maloney was one of the coolest principal I’ve seen, giving his students daps and hugs showing them love.  He also told a nice story about adversity and how his son picked himself up from a fall.
But the person that stole the show was  Mrs. Helen McCormick, President of The House, Inc. which I heard was a place where she take in all sorts of kids and help them to have a better life.  She told this wonderful story about a kid running a race and how as the kid was getting closer to the finish line, he heard a pop, his ham-string snapped, but the kid pick himself back up and started trying to finish the race, he even said he had to finished the race.  The crowd started cheering, (I’m getting goose bump all over again), anyhow, the crowd stated cheering and the boy was dragging himself to the finish line when his father push through the crowd, and jump over the fence and told people to move so he could help his son and as they were finishing the race and people are cheering and clapping, the father said something to him about the cheers and he looked at his father and said I wasn’t doing this for them, I was doing this for me.  Then she said I BELIEVE IN YOU 4Sho lol , KEEP IT UP, and AND DON’T GET DESTRICTED.  It takes guts and determination to finish the race.  How sad is it that a lot kids care more about a ring-tones than knowing how to read.
Man when she was done, everyone went crazy,  cheering and clapping.  Some families even wore costume and brought signs.  Other graduates even danced a crossed the stage. I would like to close with shout-outs to some special kids, my niece Jasmine Bryant, Senior Class President Cameron Silas, Micah Kadhief Hohney (wheelchair bound) & he still pick himself off the ground, Specialty Coordinator Courtney K, Wilkson

Graduating With Dignity

Dignity
I attended my cousin Eric’s graduation and a Principle from one of the high schools stated that you couldn’t cheer  or scream or use noise maker and to show dignity by just applauding  not taking pictures while the kids are getting their certificate.  They even had security there as if the President was walking across the stage.
Now my little niece is graduating and the flyer that they gave her said no noise makers or anything.   What I don’t understand is how these people could be so dignified that they don’t recognize what a major accomplishment the kids have made.  This to me warrants screaming shouting and whatever else. I think when my son or other little kids see how much  Love the grads are getting for their accomplishments then they too would be inspired to walk across that stage.  Let’s not be so dignified that when people scream celebrate and cry that we forget why.
Congrats to all graduating class

Pity The Fool By SouljaBoy Soulja Boy

 Pity The Fool
This message is to all of you who have gone thru, the ones that use guns as a tool. Pity is for you, thinking that you can do what you do.  Even if you could, some people are happy with that as long as you keep in your hood.  But then that’s no good, because I’m from the hood, oh sh! t, these dudes are shooting and they are good. Man I’m glad I was minding my business, next thing you know there I go.
A good dude is gone because you Pitty The Fool and was wrong. I know with your skills you could do a better song and if not, just stay home.

Thank You For The Change

As I traveled throughout the DMV, I see a lot changes in our Peps. Like 99.5 The Kane Show was talking about Love on the Radio and that’s something that they didn't normally do, So Mr. President, I say thank U.   As I go into the grocery stores like, Blooms or Safeway in Sterling and Shoppers in Dumfries, I see much more than just someone standing at the door. Or on the Today’s show adding a new Host, welcome Natalie Morales' you have put on a great show.   I can't forget all of the DJs, from around the way that  makes it a special day, Natasha Bedingfield on Regis and Kelly sing about love and peace and enjoying being who you are weightless & Wendy Williams the star, sending shout outs & having her parents about.

Thank U all.

Red Robin- Happy 18th Birthday Jasmine Bryant Wishing U All The Love From Above & Your Uncle MoPoDC

We went to Red Robin in Woodbridge tonight for my niece’s eighteen birthday & I wanted to send a few shout outs to Mark, Chris and Ryan, at Red Robin, thank you for a wonderful time.  We really enjoyed dining there and the nice open sports like atmosphere.
As we sat watching the high lights on ESPN & Sport Center, I was surprise when a little kid about my son age said yea, he was rooting for the Mavs, and I asked him why, he said because of Dirk, I said so you like Dirk too and he was like yeaaaa and then everyone around the room started talking about how much they like Dirk and why.
Of course when Leborn’s name came up they were disappointed in his last game with his low scoring and how they felt he was chilling and had become nothing more than a facilitator. But I agree with Jalon Rose, I think Lebron will emerge from this and surprise us all.
Now back to my niece birthday party lol,her wish was for people to come out and celebrate the Big 18 birthday regardless if you were hungry or not.  She just wanted to see all the wonderful faces of people that love her.  I am so thankful, that I had the opportunity to be there with my son and hang out aftward with family and friends, because too many time we become so busy with life and strife that we miss out on the thing that means the most and by the time we realize, it those love ones have become a ghost.

My Thoughts about Mr. Weiner & His Situation

I believe Mr. Weiner did what most of would do when we are caught in the wrong or embarrassed by our action. But, from what I read about him, he has not allowed his behavior to hindering him from doing a good job. Let's see if he & others have really learned from this. Because as history has shown, no telling when one of us could be in similar situation. MoPoDC Just My thought

How Much Money Will Be Enough For You To Finally Stand Up?

I spent some time going around to different events this weekend. I went to the Herndon festival, which they hold every year.  I went to meet my son and while I was there
All types of people where hanging out and drinking and parting and no fights. In fact I over heard this one guy tell his boys who seemed to be in their teens, to go have fun stop standing around looking hard.
Then when I was driving home I saw my community holding a Health Dog clinic and the same thing everyone from all types of back ground having fun listening to some young kids in a band play.
In fact everywhere I go I tend to see this kind of environment, Kings Dominion, Disney World, Water Parks and etc.
Which got me thinking, the problems are not the people who are willing to put aside their differences and try to enjoy life while feeling equal.
Instead it seems to be the Government, Big businesses, Ministers, and Church goers.
In order to get rid of this Hate and Discrimination, it’s has to truly start at the top.
It’s sad because We The People want this so bad, but it seems like we don’t know where to start or who to turn to for help.
When I go out and talk to people they  feel discourage about our future because they believe that the Government really don’t care.  Now, I am new to this political arena and President Obama has restored my faith in the possibilities.   But how can he succeed if something as a NBA games appear corrupted or Twitter blatantly turning my tweets off for whatever reason.  Corruption in something like this is crazy, especially when you have a group of kids that came into the league with dreams to succeed and it’s like these people tell you  to go alone with this mind game and if you don’t like it get out the league.  The problem with this is that league is losing out because people are bored with the games they weather watch a college game then to watch NBA players, so now the NBA players are only playing for money, losing the love for the game and getting discourage. This becomes a vicious cycle in life.
Now compound that with our leaders that were established to Govern the people like Judges, Polices Officers, Congressperson and Mayors, Senators and so forth.
I bet when they decided to go into this position they were excited about the possibilities and somewhere along the way they were beaten down so much that they too gave into the pressure forgetting why they initially decided to serve.
Serve, isn't  that what are our leaders are supposed to do?  But it seems like they have become more takers then givers.  Serving in those positions were supposed to be an Honor.  Where is the Honor when you know deep in your heart that you are letting your people down and by people I mean American people.
As, I grew up and I saw how this selfish behavior has  hurt us and I think we see it to but instead we continue to Play politics instead of fulfilling our dreams and aspirations.
I want to ask you all a questions, what happen to caring about your legacy.  You know, what will they say when your kids or grandkids hear about your service.
This is not a shot at any group, but this was the best example that I could come up with.
We have had men that held the highest position that any person could hold and yet, they can’t even feel proud of having that job.
In fact, a sanitation worker might feel a since of pride more so then those in these high positions.
You people have taken something Great and turned into a game of shame to see who rise above the insane.
That is why America is in the shape that it is in today.

We have been trailing behind other countries for so long and yet nothing has changed.  You go about your day like no care in the world. How much money will be enough for you to finally stand up?
You asked for the power to make a difference and God granted it to you and what do you do with it.
It’s time to reflect look at where we are as a Nation & what do you see, ask your self what picture does History paint of you.
The only division is between people with Power and Money.
Just something to think about.

Marvin Sapp - The Best In Me- Try to Show The Best In You If That Is All You Do

Just Another Case Of Selfish Behavior.

Good morning, could someone help me understand something, we have a shortage in skills set or trained people to do the jobs that our Prez would like to employ, how can we get upset with him. Especially since the jobs of the future should be Clean Energy and Solar types jobs.  If no one from the corporate or small business is doing anything to help with the crisis. In fact, the oil companies High prices have been the main contributor to the reason why we are in the state we are in

How can we be upset with the President?  Shouldn’t it be incumbent upon the companies that took advantage of all of the tax breaks and shady deals to take that money and use it to reinvest back into the job market.

This to me is just another case of selfish behavior.  If we keep giving into these companies that exhibit this kind of behavior, how are we supposed to ever get ahead?
Please don’t tell me when someone else is in office.  That would mean big companies are holding our President hostage because he asking them to stop this selfishness so America could have a chance in this race to making a difference.
People let’s not give in to this propaganda that is being portrayed about this job market stuff.
Until schools start providing the education and training we need, and certain people stop hurting our schools and teacher and making drastic cuts and the oil companies stop robbing us blind, it will always be a viscous circle and the American people will suffer  MoPoDC

Response To Twitter Alan Moore Fairfax County Conservative Examiner

I think this article is very Republican like. You try to make us think you are fighting and supporting us and that the other party is just on some witch hunt.  When you are belittling the Virginia people with your sorry examples.  Women rights and this quote that the people of Virginia are smarter than the dumb hicks the elitist left take them for” It sounds to me that you and the party you support are the ones that think we are dumb hicks not the other way around.
Please stick to journalism and stop trying to play politics because your selfish one sided view make the Examiner looks skewed, it is making us Virginia sick. MoPoDC

Trying to retain the people he seeks

President has a busy week trying to retain the people he seeks.  Paying his respect to those who served & showing love to the injured because he feels they deserve.

Just some of what he does, like giving those who needed a Hug.

David I don’t know you but it must be nice to have the President sing Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dude,
