Leesburg 4th of July Parade officials

Leesburg, VA  July 4.  In a double-secret vote, Leesburg 4th of July Parade officials, participants and parade watchers selected the Loudoun Organizing for America (OFA) team as the "Most Awesome" group in this year's parade.  The team was recognized for their awesome classic automobile and driver, awesome signs, awesome candy and candy distribution, and awesome team spirit and enthusiasm.  Many of the voters also acknowledged that the OFA team was also among the most energetic, friendliest and best hydrated.

When asked about the OFA group, senior parade official (and descendant of America's first flag maker) Betsy Ross Truth replied, "they were awesome, just awesome".  Frances Scotty Key Smith, couldn't contain his enthusiasm when speaking about the team saying "they were Star Spangled awesome!".  The impact of the team's participation was probably best summed up by Robert I Thomas Lee, lifetime Leesburg resident, great grandson of the Civil War General and great great great nephew of the man for whom the town was named.  Lee, who has attended every parade since its inception, simply stated, "they were the best damn team we've ever had.  I hope someone mentioned they were awesome!".

OFA, formerly Obama for America, is the grassroots organization that continued beyond the 2008 election to provide support for the Presidents campaign for change.  The group is beginning to ramp up and energize volunteers and voters in Loudoun and across the country to support President Obama's  reelection in 2012.  It's not surprising that they were recognized for their participation in the Leesburg Parade as it is generally accepted that they have the best, most awesome volunteers around!
